Hip Stuff

Needing hip surgery felt like the biggest, scariest thing I’d ever had to face at times.

A future as a yoga teacher? Where was that going?

Was I going to die? Three per cent chance of that happening, my surgeon told me. (That world spinning out of control effect you see it films… it happens).

Huge, huge ‘what ifs’ flooded my thinking. But after some full-on sobbing into my partner’s shoulder I started to think about what I could do to:

  • improve my recovery progress
  • feel better in myself
  • get in the right mindset for surgery and beyond
  • get the house ready for me being on crutches
  • calm down.

Osteoarthritis is incredibly unpleasant. No one can really know your pain but I can share some ideas I had which worked for me.
